About

Welcome to ByAmalie, a small-batch, hand-dyed yarn studio created with love, color, and craftsmanship. My name is Anna Amalie. I was born and raised in Denmark and later moved to Israel, where I now live with my family. Around here I mostly go by Anna, but “Amalie” remains at the heart of my creative work.

ByAmalie began with a simple need: high-quality yarn for my own knitting and textile projects. While studying at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art, I struggled to find premium yarn in Israel that matched the standards I wanted. I often relied on visiting family and friends to bring yarn from abroad. When COVID travel restrictions made that impossible, I started experimenting with the yarn and leftover dyes from my studies—and I rediscovered just how much joy color brings me.

What started as small dyeing experiments quickly grew into something bigger. I founded a knitting group in Shoham, where I met a wonderful community of creative people who encouraged me to dye more. After moving to Pardes Hanna–Karkur, I ordered my first professional shipment of yarn, and ByAmalie has been growing naturally ever since.

Today, I dye high-quality, small-batch yarn using non-toxic acid dyes and a mindful, eco-friendly process. The water used during dyeing is recycled several times to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact. Every skein is dyed with intention, care, and attention to detail, inspired by nature, textiles, and the beautiful colors of everyday life.

Alongside dyeing, I host monthly knitting meetups, which have become one of my favorite parts of this journey. There is truly nothing like the warmth of the knitting community: everyone is welcome, we all “speak yarn,” and there is endless inspiration in sharing creativity together.

Thank you for being here. Whether you are a knitter, crocheter, weaver, or fiber lover, I hope you find yarn that sparks your imagination and brings joy to your hands.

Keep creating

-Anna Amalie
